Protostar Labs
The story of Protostar Labs began at the Astronomical Society Anonymous. We were a group of young engineers and scientists who shared a passion for space, as well as for technology and science in general.
From 2010 to 2013, we developed the Supernova Search project, a system for analyzing thousands of nighttime images to detect supernovae at the La Sagra Observatory in Spain. This resulted in the discovery of 20 new supernovae, which were confirmed by the International Astronomical Union.
Since 2019, we have been innovating in the fields of computer vision and machine learning, with a mission to bridge technological possibilities and real-world applications.

Today, we are an interdisciplinary team of engineers and scientists with expertise in computer vision, machine learning, physics, software engineering, optics, and electronics. Together with our partners and clients, we are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible and striving to make a positive impact on the world around us.
