SKORPI

The launch of the project SKORPI

Protostar Labs

On May 1, 2024, the SKORPI project – Scalable Camera and Optical Filter System for Industrial Applications – officially began. The project is led and coordinated by Protostar Labs, with the University of Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER) as a partner.

The goal of the project is to design an innovative, flexible, and cost-effective multispectral camera, based on a combination of an affordable high-resolution RGB camera and specially designed optical filters tailored for analyzing and solving specific problems. This system will be further enhanced by Protostar Labs’ proprietary AI algorithms and computer vision methods for automatic material detection and analysis.

Project activities include participation in specialized scientific and professional conferences and trade fairs, covering various topics that will guide the technical development of the multispectral camera prototype and connect it with real-world industrial challenges and partners (such as computer vision, hyperspectral imaging, food safety, remote environmental and vegetation sensing, space applications, and more).

The research findings will be published in renowned scientific journals, and all potential innovations will be protected through patent applications.

All updates will be published on the project’s official website.
